How can I ensure my data is secure?

Internet Access Security Tips

There are some simple precautions we recommend you take when using the Mercer OneView website on a public computer or a computer that you share with others:

• Ensure your login details are kept secure and secret if accessing Mercer OneView in a public place. Make sure no one is watching you log in and your login details are not visible, for example written down beside you.
• When you have completed your Mercer OneView session, ensure you log out of the OneView system by clicking on the Logout button on the Left Hand Menu and close your browser windows. This will ensure your session with Mercer OneView has been ended securely.
• Closing the Internet browser before logging out of the system will end your Mercer OneView session but you will not be able to log back into the OneView system for 7 minutes.
• As an added security precaution, Mercer OneView will automatically end your session and log you out after 7 minutes of inactivity.
• Make sure your browser indicates that it has established a secure connection to Mercer OneView. To check the security status of the website, look at the site's web address in the browser window. An "s" added to the familiar "http" (to make "https") indicates that SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is in effect. This ensures that all data passed between your browser and the Mercer OneView server is encrypted with a secret key. Different browsers have different ways of indicating that the session is secure:
  • As with all Internet access to your personal details, you should check the help files on the browser for details of how to ensure the session is secure.

What system settings do I need?

When using Mercer OneView, we recommend using one of the browsers listed on the Supported Browsers page.

If a new browser is released in a beta version, we do not offer full support.To view various forms and statements you must have Adobe Reader. For details on downloading and installing Adobe Reader, visit www.adobe.com.
